Beige is one of my favorite colors when it comes to interior design. As one of the most flexible neutrals on the color wheel, beige is light enough to work well with rooms of any size and color schema. Today, we’re going to take a closer look at curtains. It’s good to start looking at the best curtain colors for beige walls before you go shopping.

Beige walls will work with almost any neutral color, including white and beige itself. Non-neutral colors that work well with beige walls include turquoise, red, yellow, green, and orange. No matter what you choose, your curtains will go well with beige.

Getting a nice set of curtains can change the way your room looks in profound ways. To help you make a better curtain choice, we rounded up some of the top choices for you.

What Color Curtains Work Well With Beige Walls?

There are reasons why I love having beige walls. The biggest reason is that they can pair with anything fairly well. Here are the looks I love the most here, in no particular order.

1. Navy Blue

Beige and navy blue is one of the most common pairings for rooms that have a nautical theme, and rightfully so. It’s yacht club chic and a fairly timeless look, especially for people who want to have an upscale vibe. Here, we see a young child’s room done up in a boating theme. Beige walls and navy blue curtains make this a great look.

You don’t have to be a fan of yachts or boats to love this look. It also happens to be a great pick for people who want a sporty and masculine look to their home without actually going heavy-handed on things. Besides, blue is a calming and sophisticated color. It’s going to be a hit no matter what room you choose to blue out.

2. Orange

Okay, so technically, this illustration has two colors that keep shimmering through in its curtains: pink and orange. Even so, it’s proof that orange works. Why? Well… if this is not one of the most beautifully warm rooms, I don’t know what is. Orange might be a bit bold for most people, but it is definitely worth it.

Orange with beige gives your entire room a warm, appealing ambiance that is cozy yet modern. If you are a fan of homes that have a highly welcoming ambiance with an unexpected twist, this is a good move. I’ve also seen this pairing work well for girl’s rooms as well as homes that have a Southwestern appeal. So, versatility is definitely there too.

3. Beige

Beige on beige might seem a bit plain, but the truth is that it’s anything but. Pairing beige curtains with a beige wall offers a classy way to give your home a more unified look. It also makes a room look deceptively large and acts as a fast way to ensure you have another focal point in the room, That’s why many movie studios go for this look for their studio sets.

The cool thing about using beige as your curtain color is that it’s crazily versatile. This combo can work well with traditional looks like the one above, or it can be worked into a hyper modern appearance too. I’ve even seen it in Hypebeast-style stores. So, it’s okay to assume it’ll work with your style regardless of what that is.

Take a look at beige on beige here in the photo above. Tell me that doesn’t ooze class and sophistication!

4. Red

So, I’m cheating a little bit because wood isn’t technically beige. But, it’s still beige in color so I’m going to use this as a way to illustrate how beautifully red and beige can work together. Beige is already a warm color to begin with, so you can expect it to be doubly inviting when you pair it with red.

When you have red curtains, particularly sheer ones like the ones above, you get a wash of rosy glow from your window during the daytime. This gives your room a very warm, intimate feeling that’s just perfect if you want to canoodle with a cutie or two on the sofa.

With this color theme, you should be aware that it can get a bit overwhelming. Unless you really want heavy rose tones all over everything, you might want to keep your red to a minimum.

5. Violet

Oh, now this just looks regal AF. Violet or royal purple, like the room’s curtains above show, can be a fairly striking combination when put up against a light beige background like this one. here, the designer put together a blue, purple, and beige theme paired with wooden furniture. The end result was something slightly Victorian, but edgy.

If you want a room setup that looks amazing but doesn’t really come expected, purple is a good choice. Dark purple, in particular, offers a very stately look that’s gender-neutral and regal. The truth is that you can get a lot more compliments by choosing something unexpected. Violet, therefore, will be a good pick for an entertainment room.

6. White

White and beige is one of the more common combinations that you will see in modern offices, hotel rooms, as well as newer apartments. It’s easy to see why it’s becoming so popular. Both beige and white reflect light beautifully, which means that your room will always look well lit and open.

Want to add a third color as an accent? With these two, you absolutely can. These two neutrals mean that you will be able to get the color combination that you want aside from white and beige. We’d suggest teal, yellow, pink, or green for an added splash of style.

Of course, there are also people who just like the look of a monochromatic look of white paired with different darknesses of beige. This is what is going on here, and that is why this room looks so much more put together.

7. Green

This beige is almost greyish, but it still would work as far as interiors go for this article. Beige and green, much like brown and green, act as a way to remind people of the outdoors. Studies show that green, in general, has a soothing effect on people as a result of our natural ties to greenery.

When you add green curtains (like these curtain blinds above) to a beige room, you get an ambiance that feels fresh—much like a walk outside in spring. We strongly encourage this for a living room with lots of plants, or for a room that acts as a kitchen. This color scheme is actually popular with trendy salad bars because of its inference of being earthy.

8. Grey

This stunning oceanside room has a beige accent wall near the couch and a little teal near the bed. To balance things out, they decided to add a third accent color: grey. Yep, the curtains are grey and it works well with this gorgeous room’s layout. Grey, like beige, is a neutral color that pairs well with all of the stuff on the color wheel.

Grey works well if you want a wide, open look that bounces light off well. While it is a cooler neutral than beige, it works as a way to balance out warm and cool tones. So, if you were worried about the look of something being overly warm or too icy, this combination tends to be the smartest pick money can buy.

What specific color is beige?

Technically, beige isn’t just one color. It can be described as a very light brown, a light yellow, or a greyish brown that’s on the lighter side of things. If your walls look like a very light tan, then chances are that you have them painted beige. A good rule of thumb to follow is that you should assume beige to be the same color as the sand on the beach.

Is beige a warm or a cool neutral?

For the most part, beige is a color that sits squarely on the warm side of things since it tends to be based in brown. Brown is a warmer color that tends to have yellow and red overtones. However, there is one exception to this rule: greige. Greige is a grey-beige that can often have a cooler blue undertone despite being a beige color.

Does beige really go with everything?

Yes, beige is what one would call a “true neutral.” In other words, it can pair well with every single color imaginable as long as it is done smartly. This is why beige is timeless. The number of ways you can dress it up or down are truly infinite. If you want something that is versatile and smart, go for a beige tone. It won’t let you down and will give you tons of ways to update your home in the future.
